FRSA Past President  A Senior Design Consultant with twenty eight years experience, with fourteen of them in the Middle East , in all aspects of Interior and Architectural Design/ Contracting, Consulting and Marketing. He is the Chairman of Kenneth Laidler Design, a Dubai based interior design consultancy with offices in Abu Dhabi, Doha and London. He was awarded Fellowship of Chartered Society of Designers 1982 and has a Masters Degree in Design Practice From Northumberland University. UK. He has lectured at The American University in Dubai & The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and is currently developing a project management system.
|  | Hazem El Khatib, MFA Vice President  Born in Tripoli: Lebanon , he earned a Diploma in High Studies in Interior Architecture on 1985 from the Lebanese University and a Master Degree in Interior Design on 1989 from the University of North Texas: Denton, Texas – USA. He served as Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina till 1991 when he traveled to the UAE to occupy different managerial positions. In 1998, he established Design Design LLC. In Dubai. In addition to his professional practice, he is an Adjunct Assistant professor of Interior Design at the American University in Dubai. Hazem El-Khatib has many publications in Interior Design periodicals as well as two television programs addressing the profession of Interior Design and the manufacturing of furniture in the UAE.

Al-Yawer Board member Born in Iraq in 1957, he completed his Bsc in Architectural Engineering from Baghdad University and thereafter successfully completed his Diploma in Planning and Urban Design. Currently the Managing Director of Guideline Décor, an Interior Design, Project Management and Planning Company, he has diversified experience for more than 25 years in large Architectural projects with strong design knowledge, coordination of building services and extensive leasing with in-house structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, government agencies and private sectors.
|  | Fernando Arteaga Board Member  Fernando Arteaga has over 16 years of planning, architecture and design experience. As Associate Managing Director with Hirsch Bedner Associates Dubai, his responsibilities include space planning, concept and design development, engineering coordination, project management, and serving as client liaison. Fernando’s expertise lies in resort master planning, full service hotel design, F & B entertainment services and conceptual branding. In addition to his hospitality experience he brings innovative design solutions with an understanding of project viability and profitability for multi residential towers, mixed use buildings, retail and commercial developments. Prior to HBA, he worked with Gensler, The Rockwell Group, Legorreta Architects and well-known international developers on projects throughout the Middle East, Asia, United States and Latin America.
|  | Gary Richard Lawton Board Member  Nationality:British Qualifications: Member of the Royal Chartered Institute of Building (Royal Chartered Building Engineer,U.K) Member of the British Institute of Management, UK Associate Memberof the Society of Surveyors (Division of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors R.I.C.S). Head of the U.D.I.Projects Department since 2005 and prior to this he was Head of the Construction & Maintenance Division at the Engineer Office, Dubai. Gary has worked as Manager of the Building Division at the Crown Prince Court Projects Directorate in Bahrain and later as a Project Management & Quality Assurance consultant for GRL Consultancy. With over 20 years experience in Project Management and Interiors within the MiddleEast, Gary's appointment as CEO in 2007, has seen him responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business including the design studio, projects department and the finance and administration departments.
